ASHRAE Standards
|
ASHRAE develops standards for both its members and others professionally concerned with refrigeration processes and the design and maintenance of indoor environments. Several ASHRAE standards contain content related to sustainable engineering and are referenced below.
Standard 90.1-2007, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings – This standard provides minimum requirements for the energy-efficient design of buildings except low-rise residential buildings. Standard 90.1-2004 User’s Manual – This User’s Manual provides detailed instruction for the design of commercial and high-rise residential buildings to ensure their compliance with Standard 90.1-2004. Standard 90.2-2007, Energy-Efficient Design of Low-Rise Residential Buildings Standard 55-2004, Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy Standard 62.1-2007, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality – Specifies minimum ventilation rates and indoor air quality that will be acceptable to human occupants and are intended to minimize the potential for adverse health effects. Standard 62.2-2007, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low-Rise Residential Buildings – Defines the roles of and minimum requirements for mechanical and natural ventilation systems and the building envelope intended to provide acceptable indoor air quality in low-rise residential buildings. |
