TC 2.8, Building Environmental Impacts and Sustainability, is concerned with the impacts of buildings on the local, regional and global environment; means for identifying and reducing these impacts; and enhancing ASHRAE member awareness of the impacts. The impacts of concern affect long term sustainability of our environment and the quality of life for current and future generations.

TC 1.4, Control Theory and Application, subcommittee, Green Building HVAC Controls and System Integration, is concerned with developing HVAC control strategies, tools and control sequences that are an integral part of sustainable, high performance, and energy efficient facilities.

ASHRAE Technology Awards - The ASHRAE Technology Awards recognize outstanding achievements by members who have successfully applied innovative building design in the areas of ccupant comfort, indoor air quality (IAQ) and energy conservation.

Technical tours and technical program sessions – Sustainability is highlighted in programs and tours held at ASHRAE’s annual and winter meetings.
